This program teaches participants the basics of Wheel Loader Operations. The program is divided into a Theory portion and a Practical evaluation.
Theory Portion:
- Responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Construction/Industrial Regulations as they relate to Operating a WHEEL LOADER
- WHEEL LOADER components
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Hazards associated with the use of a WHEEL LOADER
- How weight distribution affects WHEEL LOADER steering and stability
- Difference between Tipping Load and Rated Operator Capacity
- Understanding Hydrostatic Transmissions
- WHEEL LOADER features and their importance
- Safe entry and exit
- Fundamentals of efficient manoeuvring, traveling and working with the Wheel Loader
- Proper Loading & Unloading Techniques
- Stability
- Pre-start inspection
- Written Test
Practical Portion:
- Understand the controls
- Understand the gauges
- Perform a Pre-shift inspection
- Safe Entry and exit
- Learn & demonstrate the basic driving techniques
- Learn & demonstrate the basic loading and unloading techniques
Each participant will spend up to 45 minutes in the machine. Maximum 8 people in the class.
