This program is designed to teach participants the skills and methods necessary to operate light duty snow removal equipment.
Participants will gain knowledge in the following areas:
- Responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Construction Regulations and MTO Regulations as they relate to Operating a Plow Mounted Pick Up Truck
- Personal Protective Equipment
- Mounting the Snow Plow to the Vehicle
- Hazards associated with the use of a Operating a Plow Mounted Pick Up Truck
- Hazard Control of a Plow Mounted Pick Up Truck
- Plow Mounted Pick Up Truck features and their importance
- Changing plows
- Fundamentals of efficient manoeuvring, traveling and working
- Electric sanders – do’s and don’ts
- Salt – too much or just enough
- Safe Operator while driving on roadways
- Pre-start inspection
Written Test – A Practical Component can also be added to this program if desired
Who Should Attend – Staff who operate snow removal equipment such as pick ups, stake trucks and light duty vehicles
